Diamond Coatings adds Dragontrail Glass and Gorilla Glass to existing range

We are pleased to announce that the Diamond Coatings range of glass types now includes Gorilla Glass (Corning) and Dragontail Glass (AGC).

We are pleased to announce that the Diamond Coatings range of glass types now includes Gorilla Glass (Corning) and Dragontrail Glass (AGC).

Gorilla Glass and Dragontrail Glass Addition

Our extensive, competitively priced range of glass types can be supplied either vacuum deposited with our full range of coatings or uncoated; profiled and/or machined and already includes the following substrate types;

  • Soda Lime Float Glass
  • Schott N-BK7
  • Schott B270
  • Sapphire
  • Quartz
  • Fused Silica
  • Borosilicate – Schott Borofloat 33

Diamond Coatings’ decision to add the Dragontrail Glass and Gorilla Glass alumina silicate glass types to our existing range was prompted by the rapidly increasing demand for beautiful and shiny; thin and light glass that neither breaks nor gets scratched by the ever growing and developing touch panel, smartphone and tablet industries as well as now being used on the ever increasingly portable applications with high definition displays that require excellent impact resistance properties.

Dragontrail Glass

This Aluminosilicate glass is manufactured using an extremely efficient and ecological (no toxic chemicals like lead, arsenic or antimony are used during the process) float process, which takes full advantage of surface tensions created while floating liquid glass on top of molten tin in the manufacture of flat, even sheets of glass.

Featuring qualities that are far superior to those of plastics and other glass in every aspect, from strength and scratch-resistance to texture, Dragontrail Glass has a strength that significantly exceeds that of other, normal glass. This fact has been clearly demonstrated by a series of tests, including ball-dropping; hammer, three-point-bending, hammer and various other tests. As such, the innovative new Dragontrail Glass is especially suitable for use in mobile (new generation) devices.

Gorilla Glass

The sustainable, thin sheet Gorilla Glass by Corning is an extraordinarily durable and damage-resistant alkali-aluminosilicate glass. The superior composition of Gorilla Glass  allows for an extremely deep layer of chemical strengthening that most other known chemically strengthened glasses cannot achieve. Featuring outstanding optical; thermal, mechanical and physical properties, Gorilla Glass is ideal for:

  • High-strength glass products
  • Optical components
  • Touch screen devices
  • Protecting electronic mobile device displays; laptop, tablet and smartphone screens

Available in varying thicknesses, this glass can be supplied in standard, as well as customer specific (on request) sizes.
