New ITO Coated Glass Slides
Consisting of soda lime float glass (1.1 mm thick) with an SiO2 (silicon oxide) barrier coating (25 nm thick), our new science, research & development glass slides are coated with a high-quality ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coating.
Soda Lime Float Glass
Soda lime glass is, due to it comparatively low processing cost, the most commonly utilized glass for slides. It is produced by drawing glass over vats of molten tin, which results in the upward (air) facing side typically being flatter & smoother than the tin-facing side. Supplied in standard, thermally or chemically toughened options, soda lime glass can be cut to meet different size requirements.
ITO Glass Slides with SiO2 Barrier
Positioned between the soda lime glass and the Indium Tin Oxide layer, the SiO2 barrier coating was introduced to our slides to inhibit Na (Sodium) ion diffusion out of the glass. Sodium ions can, unless blocked by such a layer, disrupt the performance of the Indium Tin Oxide, as well as that of devices grown thereon. The silicon oxide layer therefore serves to increase both quality and longevity of our ITO glass slides.
Standard Sizes and Grades
Diamond Coatings ITO coated glass slides are available in stock-held standard sizes including:
- 75mm x 25mm
- 20mm x 10mm and
- 25mm x 25mm
Varying other sizes can also be supplied (please note that the maximum available size is 400mm x 500mm). Currently available grades include:
- 15 Ohm/sq, 86% transmittance OLED grade ITO Coating
- 15 Ohm/sq, 88% transmittance standard ITO coating
- 5 Ohms/sq, 82% transmittance standard ITO coating
The surface of the OLED grade option is smoother than that of the two standard options.
